Abenteuer Weltumrundung by Reiner Meutsch
With a Piper Cheyenne around the world – Reiner Meutsch has been doing this with his co-pilot Arnim Stief. Their 10 months tour brings them from Germany to Africa, over Asia towards Australia, passing North America towards Latin America and then finally heading back via the Eastern US coast, Greenland and Iceland. They covered more than 100.000 flight kilomoeters and flew over 77 countries – and certainly had the time of their lives.
When I first heard about the book I was more than curious expecting lots of adventures and flying experiences I can be scared and impressed of, people stories to make me smile and a general log which leaves me in awe for our world. Unfortunately my pilot’s curiosity has been disappointed slightly, as flying stories have been kept rather short. However, the book features brilliant photos and stories about people met along the way – and for this is still worth reading!
Last not least it also supports the trust “Fly & Help” which cares for additional education of youngsters in developing countries and is as such a good reason to buy it and enjoy the stories and colourful illustration.
